Before you e-mail WPP you must read this handy dandy FAQ Just about any question regarding releases, Bit Torrent problems, playback issues, and more can be found here. Please do not e-mail us if you think the website/forum/bit torrent site is down. Chances are, we already know and are working to fix it.
We get so much e-mail regarding simple issues, and we just can't be stopping to answer them all. We fansub in addition to our normal lives, so please take a moment to read through this FAQ first. If you do e-mail WPP with a question answered by this FAQ, you could find yourself banned from the IRC Channel and/or the BT Tracker. What does that mean? It means no files for you.
Q: When is the next episode of [insert series here] being released?
A: When it's finished. As noted above, we have lifes which often must come ahead of our hobbies. Also worth mentioning, we can only release as fast as our staff can work, and we are currently short on translators.
Q: What's taking so long for the next episode of [insert series here] to be released?
A: We're working as quickly as possible to release the next episode. Understand that we have a strict level of quality that we wish to maintain and that we will release an episode when we feel it is completed.
Q: Does WPP plan to do Rockman.EXE Stream, the new season of Sonic X, etc?
A: For of now we do have plans to fansub Rockman.EXE Stream after we finish Rockman.EXE Axess. We will also most likely fansub the new season of Sonic X.
Q: Is there a new season of Digimon getting ready to air in Japan? I heard it's the fifth year and is based on Digimon Chronicle.
A: We have not seen any confirmation of new Digimon series or movies beyond the recent Digimon X-Evolution event.
Q: Why was I banned from the channel/Bit Torrent?
A: Because you have broken the rules. Please do not e-mail us regarding your ban, it will only make it last longer. Just be sure to read the !rules next time (you can find them on teh "about" section of the web site). Please note that bans are almost always temporary, so chances are if you give it a little time, you will be unbanned.
Q: How can I download files from IRC/Bit Torrent?
A: Please visit the "help" section of our website to learn how to download files from IRC and Bit Torrent.
Q: How do I watch the files released by WPP?
A: The first thing you need to do is get XViD. You can install this and it will work with your favourite media player such as Windows Media Player (Any Version), BSPlayer, VirtualDub, ATI File Player and any other software that plays .avi files and has been created in the past two years. Also be sure to check out our "Help" section.
Q: Sometimes I get the message "bad info" or something similar that looks like something is wrong on my Bit Torrent client. What's wrong?
A: The problem is you're having trouble connecting to other peers through the tracker. This is not a problem with the torrent site, the torrent, or the file. Simply wait it out or try stopping and restarting your torrent.
Q: Why does my download never complete from Bit Torrent?
A: Always check to make sure there are plenty of Seeds/Peers before downloading a file. You can check this on our torrent homepage here. If there is at least one Seed, that is more than enough.
Q: Why is my download speed so slow?
A: Many ISPs are blocking and/or throttling the standard ports that BitTorrent uses to connect to other peers. If you are getting slow speeds on a torrent that has a large number of seeds and peers you may want to try configuring your BT client to connect on other ports. Otherwise your ISP may be restricting your usage of BitTorrent.
Q: Why aren't there more seeds for episodes of [insert series here] on Bit Torrent?
A: Right now it's very difficult for us to attempt to maintain seeded torrents given that we do this ourselves (the staff and distro team) with our own connections. Nearly all of our releases are currently torrented and on the torrent page. If you are looking for something and it is not there yet and it is marked in our "Series" section, please visit the IRC channel to download it.
Q: Why did you drop [insert series here]?
A: We only drop a project if has been licensed for North American release in Dual Language format (English and Japanese) with professional subtitles. That means any project we work on that is only dubbed and never subbed by a professional company we will continue to work on. Our NUMBER ONE priority is for anime to be viewed in it's original context and that means with Japanese audio and no editing for content.
Q: I'm from a fansub group that releases in another language than English. Can you give me scripts/raws/etc to help me?
A: We do not give out our scripts in any form and we are very offended if you attempt to steal them. If you are trying to fansub anime in a language other than English you should find a translator that will translate from Japanese directly into that language. Too much can be lost translating from another language. We also do not give out raws for any reason due to bandwidth issues. That means we also do not give out raws to Fandubbing groups or movie makers. You can easily get raws for yourself using any variety of p2p programs.
Q: I'd like to help out WPP by applying for any open positions, what are you hiring for?
A: We are ALWAYS hiring Japanese to English translators. Other positions have been rather full lately and we have no plans to hire any other fansubbing positions. In reference to translators we're looking for any kind with strength enough to handle the types of shows we do. We're also actively seeking someone to translate manga and other written works. If you're wanting to apply for translator (audio or written) you can either scroll down for the e-mail address or contact Izumi in our channel (Just ask for her by name. but try not to bother her if ner nick has a bunch of Zs in it :P).
Q: I'd like to help out WPP by donating some money, but what do you use this money for?
A: We appreciate any donations of any amount. All donations go towards our all around fansubbing. Everything from cost of DVD's to cost of this website is included since otherwise it's all out of pocket.
If you've read all that and you still think you need to contact us, please understand that we will attempt to reply as quickly as possible, but can make no gurantee of a reply.
Any and all spam will be reported as well. It shouldn't be to hard to figure out the address. ^_^
